Do you want to live like the Cowboys passing through in the old west. Well this is about as close as you can get. The rooms haven't upgraded much since Wyatt Earp, Doc Holiday and Jesse James among others stayed here. By today's standards it may be a little lack luster, but coming off months on the back of a horse, a stiff drink, bath and clean bed were a welcome site. If your not quite up to "roughing" it you can stay in more modern rooms in the annex. Be sure you see the Actual bullet holes left in the bar from gun fights in the area. There is a lot of New Mexico history in the St. James so its worth the stop. Oh, and they say not everyone who checked in ever checked out. If your patient you might see one of their ghosts.

This place is amazing. Its been taken care of so much that it feels like you actually did step back in time! I recomend to all historians and those interested in history

We did not stay at the hotel but we did enjoy the restaurant on many occasions. The food was very good quality and good portioned. The waitresses and bartenders were very nice and welcoming. There are many things to see while eating dinner do two displays on the wall. Our waitress knew many things about the town history and the ghosts from hotel. The ceiling is the original ceiling from when the hotel was first built and there are gun holes from a gunfight. They still have the original saloon doors. This is definitely a place I will come back to.

Historic creepiness. Just came for a visit and strolled around the"vintage"rooms. Don't know if I'd stay there, but perfect for the ghost house connoisseur. The pics submitted are of a near by vintage shop that is a MUST SEE to continue your historic tour.

The history of this place is amazing...the people here, especially Lisa the waitress, were very welcoming! The beds were very comfortable too! Lol
