I want to go back to Philmont!

Maybe if you're like 14 or 15 it's okay, but there's better places to hike if you're older than that or if you want real adventure. Also, 12 days is way too long. I have a life.

Basically unless you're into hanging with ugly dudes for 2 weeks and hiking too much every day just plan like a 5 day trip somewhere cool and then get back to your job, girl, family, and commitments. If you're a gay masochist with a body odor fetish then philmont will be perfect for you. Otherwise save your money and go somewhere better.

The backpacking trips into the mountains are a truly life changing experience. The program camps provide many great opportunities and unique experiences. I have hiked many miles here and always amazed and the beauty around every corner.

How could you not love Philmont? Open sky. Amazing vistas. Personal growth opportunities. Simply amazing.

This place is also dangerous; their medical staff sucks. My friend had his feet screwed up from his boots being too tight and these clowns had no idea what to do. Once he went to a real doctor back home it was like a 10 second diagnosis.

My crew had a great experience at Philmont. I highly recommend that if you get the chance to go that you do it, as a youth or adult. The staff was excellent and went out of their way to help us when several crew members had to leave due to medical issues. Best 12 days of my life.

Philmont Scout Ranch is an amazing place with many great opportunities for youth and adults involved in the Boy Scouts of America. Adults can participate in great educational conferences at the Philmont Training Center where they have great programs for children and spouses as well.

This is the premiere Boy Scout experience and not for those who have not physically prepared or without skills. Ten day treks of more than sixty miles of hiking in the mountains of New Mexico. "Scouting Paradise" in some of the most pristine and beautiful landscape, all while carrying your 50 pound world on your back!
